Naya Savera Delhi
D-422, Swaroop Hospital, Swaroop Nagar, Delhi
A family comparing every rehabilitation centre in Model Town and the rest of North Delhi usually ends up weighing three things: is the treatment serious, can we keep visiting, and will anyone find out. Naya Savera's Delhi centre in Swaroop Nagar is about 15 minutes by road from Model Town, depending on traffic, which makes it the closest residential programme we run to Model Town I, II and III, Gujranwala Town and GTB Nagar. We do not have a centre inside Model Town itself.
Naya Savera is a non-profit trust founded in 2008 by Mr Arvind Kumar, himself a recovering addict. Our Delhi centre is licensed by the Delhi government, and we also run a centre in Noida and two in Himachal Pradesh. The people who call us from Model Town are rarely the ones drinking or using. They are wives, daughters, brothers and sometimes employees, and the first thing we do is listen to what has been happening at home.
Model Town is one of North Delhi's most settled colonies: wide plots, two and three storey family houses, long-established business families, and evening walkers around Naini Lake. Drinking here is social and well supplied. A whisky after the shop closes, a longer session at the club or the farmhouse, a wedding every other weekend between November and February.
What makes this hard to see is that the man keeps functioning. He opens the showroom on time, signs the cheques, turns up at every family function. The family notices other things: the second bottle that appears midweek, the morning tremor hidden behind a cup of tea, the sugar and liver readings that keep worsening, the anger that arrives after nine. Our note on high-functioning alcohol addiction describes this pattern in detail. If it sounds like your house, it is worth a call.
The other side of Model Town is younger. GTB Nagar metro and the North Campus colleges are next door, and the PG rooms and rented floors of Model Town III, Gujranwala Town and the lanes behind the metro station are full of students and coaching aspirants from Haryana, Punjab, UP and Bihar. Cannabis, alcohol and the occasional strip of sleeping pills are part of that world, and a landlord or a roommate is often the first adult to notice that one young man has stopped going to class.
For these families, usually hundreds of kilometres away, a rehabilitation centre near Model Town that a relative in Delhi can reach quickly matters a great deal. We speak to parents on the phone, to the friend who is worried, and when he is ready, to the young man himself.
Our Delhi centre is at D-422, Swaroop Hospital, Swaroop Nagar, North Delhi.
The Delhi centre page shows the setting. Please call before your first visit so that a counsellor is free to sit with you properly rather than between other appointments.
Many Model Town families try to manage the first step themselves: lock the bar, cancel the delivery, sit with him through the shakes. For a man who has been drinking heavily every day, that can be dangerous. Alcohol withdrawal can bring on severe tremors, confusion, hallucinations and seizures, and it can turn serious within a day or two of the last drink.
At Naya Savera, a general health assessment is done on admission and detoxification follows, with 24/7 medical and psychological support. Read why stopping suddenly can be dangerous before anyone in the family decides to go cold turkey at home, and speak to us first.
Our residential programme is for men and runs on the Narcotics Anonymous 12 Steps programme combined with the Therapeutic Community approach, where residents take responsibility for one another. Clinical psychiatry is blended with Ayurveda and yoga.
The average stay is around 180 days. The actual length is agreed after assessment, and the treatment page explains each stage.
In a colony where everybody knows which car belongs to which house, privacy is often the deciding factor. Nothing you tell us reaches neighbours, relatives, the business or the club unless the family chooses to share it. Admission itself needs the person's own agreement; if he refuses, we help you plan a calm conversation or a guided intervention rather than a confrontation.
Families are part of treatment, not visitors to it. We hold individual and group counselling for family members every month, our counsellors visit homes, and visits to the centre are arranged on fixed days so that a wife or father can come without disrupting the routine. As a non-profit we keep fees affordable; the team explains the cost and what it covers before you decide. Call or WhatsApp 98732 90300.
We would rather you judge that than take our word for it. Ask any centre you are considering whether it is licensed, who runs the counselling, what happens during detox, how families are involved and what aftercare looks like a year later. Ask what the fee covers. A good rehab centre in Model Town's vicinity will answer all of that without hesitation.
What we can say is this: our Delhi centre is licensed, our staff and trustees include people with lived experience of addiction, our programme combines the 12 Steps with the Therapeutic Community approach, and we are a quarter of an hour away. Families from Model Town, Azadpur and Kamla Nagar have found that combination enough to make the first call. For any de addiction centre in Model Town or nearby that you compare with us, we are happy to help you ask the right questions.
Naya Savera does not have a centre inside Model Town. Our Delhi centre at D-422, Swaroop Hospital, Swaroop Nagar is about 15 minutes by road, or three Yellow Line stops from Model Town metro to Jahangirpuri followed by a short auto ride, which makes regular family visits practical.
Holding a job does not rule out addiction; it often hides it. If the drinking is daily, the quantity is rising, he cannot stop for a week without becoming unwell, and the family is arranging life around his evenings, it is time to speak to us. Our team can help you judge the stage.
Yes. Visits are arranged on scheduled days so that treatment is not disrupted, and family members attend individual and group counselling every month. Our counsellors also visit patients' homes. Recovery has to hold at home, so we encourage families to take part.
Yes. Naya Savera is a non-profit registered under the Indian Trust Act, and our Delhi centre is licensed by the Delhi government. We have treated addiction since 2008, beginning in Himachal Pradesh, and today run centres in Delhi, Noida and Himachal Pradesh. Ask us for details at your first visit.
We are a non-profit, and fees are kept affordable. We do not publish a single figure because the plan depends on the assessment, but the team explains the full cost and what it covers before admission, so there are no surprises for the family later.
