De-Addiction Centre in Kamla Nagar (North Campus): Non-Profit Care Since 2008

Naya Savera Delhi, the nearest de-addiction centre for families in Kamla Nagar and North Campus

If you are searching for a de-addiction centre in Kamla Nagar, the nearest residential option run by Naya Savera is our Delhi centre in Swaroop Nagar, about 20 minutes by road from the Kamla Nagar market and the North Campus colleges, depending on traffic. We do not have a centre inside Kamla Nagar itself, but for families in Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Vijay Nagar and GTB Nagar, Swaroop Nagar is close enough for regular visits.

Naya Savera is a non-profit trust that has treated alcohol and drug addiction since 2008. Our Delhi centre is licensed by the Delhi government, and we also run a centre in Noida and two in Himachal Pradesh. Around North Campus the calls we receive are often about a son or hostel friend whose cannabis use has stopped being casual; from the older Kamla Nagar households they are about drinking that has gone on for years. Both begin with a confidential conversation with our team.

Looking for a De-Addiction Centre in Kamla Nagar: Two Kinds of Calls

Kamla Nagar is a shopping and residential colony pressed against Delhi University's North Campus. Hindu College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, Kirori Mal, Hansraj and Ramjas are a short walk away, the lanes around Chhota Gol Chakkar and Bada Gol Chakkar fill with students every evening, and in Vijay Nagar and along Hudson Lane in GTB Nagar are thousands of PG rooms.

Most people who type de-addiction centre Kamla Nagar into a phone are not the person using. They are a flatmate or a parent in another city worried about a young man's cannabis or pill use, or a wife in an established Kamla Nagar home where the father has been drinking every evening for years.

"It's Just Weed": Cannabis and Hostel Life Around North Campus

Cannabis is the substance we hear about most from the campus side. It starts as charas or ganja shared on a hostel roof and for a long time it looks harmless. Then attendance drops, money from home disappears faster than rent explains, he is awake at 3 am and absent from morning lectures, and his calls home grow shorter and less truthful. A flatmate in Vijay Nagar usually knows months before the parents do.

Our counsellors have written about this in why "it's just weed" is rarely the whole story, and about the heavy vaping and nicotine use that often sits alongside it. You do not need a drug de addiction centre in Kamla Nagar itself; ours is twenty minutes up the road.

Alcohol in the Older Homes of Kamla Nagar and Shakti Nagar

Many families here have run shops, agencies and practices for generations, and the drinking is respectable: a few pegs after closing, more at weddings and card parties. Then evenings get longer, mornings get shakier, sugar and blood pressure climb, and arguments become the pattern.

If you want an alcohol de addiction centre in Kamla Nagar for a man who drinks every day, speak to us before he tries to stop on his own. Suddenly stopping heavy daily drinking at home can bring on dangerous withdrawal. At Naya Savera detoxification comes first, with 24/7 medical and psychological support.

Reaching Naya Savera Delhi from Kamla Nagar and GTB Nagar

Our Delhi centre is at D-422, Swaroop Hospital, Swaroop Nagar, North Delhi.

  • By metro: Vishwavidyalaya and GTB Nagar are on the Yellow Line. Ride north and get off at Jahangirpuri or Samaypur Badli; the centre is a short auto ride from either.
  • By road: GT Karnal Road north past Azadpur towards Mukarba Chowk, about 20 minutes outside peak hours.
  • Parents arriving by train: New Delhi station is on the same Yellow Line.

Call before you come so a counsellor is free, and see the Delhi centre page for the setting.

How Treatment Works at Our Delhi Centre

Treatment is residential, and our residential programme is for men. It follows the Narcotics Anonymous 12 Steps programme combined with the Therapeutic Community approach, and blends clinical psychiatry with Ayurveda and yoga.

  • Admission: health assessment, then detoxification.
  • Primary care: understanding addiction as an illness.
  • Secondary care: yoga, exercise, badminton, meditation, daily group therapy and study.
  • Counselling: cognitive behaviour therapy, family issues, stress management.
  • Aftercare: a relapse prevention plan, follow-ups, NA and AA meetings.

The average stay is about 180 days; the actual length is decided after assessment. For a student this is a real interruption: a semester lost to treatment can be recovered, years lost to addiction usually cannot. See our treatment page for each stage.

Consent, Confidentiality and Cost

Nobody is admitted to Naya Savera without his own agreement. What we do is help you prepare: our counsellors speak to parents and friends first, help plan a calm conversation or a guided intervention, and stay with the family until he agrees to an assessment. Many of our staff are in recovery themselves, which changes how a defensive twenty-year-old listens.

Nothing you share goes to the college, the landlord or relatives unless the family decides so. Whichever nasha mukti kendra in Kamla Nagar or elsewhere you compare us with, ask what it costs and what that covers; as a non-profit we keep fees affordable and explain them before admission. Call or WhatsApp 98732 90300. If he is in the coaching belt rather than on campus, our Mukherjee Nagar page covers that side. For both, a rehab centre near Kamla Nagar reachable in twenty minutes is a practical answer.

FAQs

Kamla Nagar and North Campus: Questions We Are Asked

Is there a de-addiction centre in Kamla Nagar itself?

No. Naya Savera does not run a centre inside Kamla Nagar or on the North Campus. Our Delhi centre is at D-422, Swaroop Hospital, Swaroop Nagar, about 20 minutes away by road, or a Yellow Line ride to Jahangirpuri and an auto.

My son lives in a PG near Kamla Nagar and smokes weed every day. Is that really addiction?

Daily use that continues despite falling attendance, money problems, changed sleep and lying is the pattern we treat, whatever he calls it. Cannabis dependence is real, and in young men it often sits alongside alcohol, nicotine or pills. Describe what you are seeing and our counsellors will help you judge.

Will his college or hostel be told that he is in rehab?

Not by us. Everything the family shares is confidential, and we do not contact colleges, hostels, landlords or relatives. Many families tell the college only that he is on medical leave. We can help you decide what to say before admission.

How long does a student need to stay in treatment?

The average stay is about 180 days, but the actual length is decided after the health assessment and depends on the substance, how long it has been used and his progress. We talk through the academic cost with the family and plan around examinations where realistic.

What happens on the first day at the centre?

A general health assessment is carried out and detoxification begins. The family meets a counsellor to share history and fix the first family counselling date, and the routine, the rules and the stages ahead are explained to him and to you.
